Dr. Maggie Kigozi is a medical doctor by profession having practiced in Uganda , Zambia and Kenya .
In 1994 Dr. Kigozi joined the Private Sector as Marketing Director in Crown Bottlers (Pepsi) Ltd. She was elected as a Board Member of Uganda Manufacturers Association and played a key role as Chairperson of the Sector Committee in advising Government on Private Sector friendly policies.
In 1999 Dr. Kigozi was appointed Executive Director of the Uganda Investment Authority, the government body that promotes and facilitates investment in Uganda . Under Dr. Kigozi’s leadership foreign and domestic investments have continued to increase and Uganda Investment Authority won the Corporate Location Prize for the best Investment Promotion Agency in Africa and the Middle East in 2001.
In addition to her work with the Uganda Investment Authority, Dr. Kigozi is involved in a number of local and international organizations. She is an Associate Professor at Makerere University; Chancellor of Nkumba University; Patron, Uganda Change Agents and Junior Chamber International; Director of the Board of Uganda Export Promotion Board, Enterprise Uganda and Crown Beverages Limited; and Chief Commissioner Uganda Scouts Association. Dr. Kigozi is a Member of the OECD African Investment Promotion Initiative; Managing Director Africa for American African Business Women Alliance (AABWA); Focal Point, East Africa for Commonwealth Business Women’s Network (CBWN); UNCTAD-ICC Business Advisory Council Member; Trustee Uganda Local Authorities Association and member of the Steering Committee of the Africa Asia Business Council.
Dr. Kigozi was an athlete who represented Uganda in lawn tennis, table tennis, squash and hockey.
